About the Programme
Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma) is a two-year academic programme streamlined to endow in-depth knowledge of science and technique behind the formulation of pharmacy practice and medicines management. The programme fundamentally provides an overview of the conjecture principles and practices implicated in the science of pharmacy including core subjects like Pharmaceutical Chemistry Pharmacognosy Pharmacology and Pharmaceutics.
The curriculum and syllabi for the programme are as per the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) the statutory body governing pharmacy profession in India. In this programme students will gain insights into the chemical and physical properties chemical structure and uses of pharmaceutical formulae. The programme encompasses knowledge about the natural medicines which are obtained from plants animals marine and biological sources.
In addition the programme focuses on imparting knowledge about drugs used for different diseases dosage absorption mechanism of action drug action drug interaction adverse reaction. Candidates seeking advance knowledge in the discipline can apply for higher education.
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
 
PEO-1: Professional Competence:  To equip students with sound theoretical and practical knowledge in pharmaceutical sciences to meet the requirements of the pharmaceutical industry and community pharmacy.

PO-1. Review the Prescriptions:  Handle prescriptions professionally, checking for completeness, correctness, and drug interactions.
PO-2. Dispense Prescription / Non-Prescription Medicines:  Dispense medicines as per Drugs & Cosmetics Act rules and provide appropriate OTC medication advice.
PO-3. Provide Patient Counselling / Education:  Effectively counsel patients on medication use, lifestyle modifications, and health-related issues.
PO-4. Hospital & Community Pharmacy Management:  Manage inventory, procurement, and storage in a hospital or community setting.
PO-5. Expertise on Medications:  Provide expert opinion to healthcare professionals regarding safe and effective medication use.
PO-6. Proficiency in Pharmaceuticals:  Describe the characteristics, chemistry, and manufacturing of drugs and formulations.

PSO-1 (Industry Support):  Acquire in-depth knowledge of pharmaceutics, including dosage form design, manufacturing, and quality control tests.
PSO-2 (Community and Hospital Pharmacy):  Possess the ability to analyze and solve pharmaceutical problems related to community and hospital pharmacy settings, handling & dispensing drugs, inventory management, drug store and maintaining documentation as per regulatory requirements.
PSO-3 (Regulatory knowledge):  Understand professional and ethical responsibilities in accordance with Pharmacy Law and  Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence.
