Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor Presents Insights at India-Nepal Fintech Summit 2025

30 Jun 2025

Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor Madam was invited to present her insights at the prestigious India-Nepal Fintech Summit 2025, organized by PHDCCI India-Nepal Centre in collaboration with Visa Inc. and the Banking, Finance and Insurance Institute of Nepal (BFIN).

The Summit was graced by esteemed dignitaries including:

  • Mr. Manjeev Singh Puri, Former Ambassador to Nepal

  • Mr. Munu Mahavar, Former Ambassador to Maldives and Oman

  • Dr. Shankar Prasad Sharma, Ambassador of Nepal to India

  • Mr. Harsha Bhowmik, Director, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India

  • Mr. Mohammed Alam Ansari, Deputy Director, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India

The India-Nepal Fintech Summit 2025 served as a dynamic platform for high-level discussions between key decision-makers from both nations, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fintech sector.

During her address, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized the pivotal role of Community Engagement, Social, Financial, and Digital Inclusion, Diversity, and Social Impact—highlighting these as transformational pillars in the evolving landscape of payment innovation.

Key policy recommendations that emerged from the Summit are expected to support ongoing efforts to enhance cross-border payment systems between India and Nepal. These efforts aim to foster smoother transactions, greater economic collaboration, and shared prosperity for people and businesses on both sides.

We are proud of our Vice-Chancellors contribution to this important discourse and look forward to continued academic and policy engagement in the fintech domain.
