Mock Parliament Session on Groundwater Sustainability

Were proud to share that the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), in collaboration with the Sharda School of Business Studies (SSBS), successfully organized a Mock Parliament on the theme “Replenishing the Invisible Resource: The Way Forward for Groundwater Sustainability.”

This event was part of Groundwater Week (16–22 July), where students actively took part in debates, policy drafting, and simulated legislative procedures to tackle Indias groundwater crisis — supporting Sustainable Development Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation.

Highlights:

• Debates on the proposed Groundwater Conservation & Regulation Bill 2025

• Expert talk by Mr. Shashank Shekhar Singh, Senior Geophysicist, Ground Water Department, Agra Mandal, U.P. Government

• Focus on building skills in policy research, critical thinking, and sustainability leadership

The event was guided by Prof. (Dr.) Jayanthi Ranjan, Vice Chancellor, and Prof. (Dr.) Saket Jeswani, Director, IQAC.
It was smoothly coordinated by Mr. Divakar Vikram Singh and Ms. Deepti Verma, Assistant Professors, SSBS.
