About the Programme

A well-designed public policy and effective governance are crucial for a country to realize its socio-economic objectives. BA programme in Political Science is the University’s endeavor to contribute to the quality of politics and policymaking in an increasingly complex and challenging world. The vision of the centre is to provide an interdisciplinary platform for learning and research on Politics and the field associated with it. The Programme will serve as forum where the academic rigor blends with empirical evidence and the practical experience to promote the knowledge about processes of policymaking, implementation and theoretical understanding of it. The objective is to contribute and provide context relevant policy inputs to the policymakers. Politicians and the citizens. The Programme will serve as a springboard of purposive discourse on effective execution of policies and inculcate the deep analysis and understanding of various theories and contexts of political science.

Programme Educational Objectives:

PEO1: Develop foundational understanding of political science concepts, political institutions, governance processes, public policy, and constitutional values.

PEO2: Enhance critical thinking, analytical ability, communication skills, and problem- solving through the study of political and social issues.

PEO3: Prepare students for higher education, competitive examinations, research, and entry- level careers in public administration, media, education, civil services, and related fields.

PEO4: Promote ethical values, social responsibility, leadership qualities, democratic awareness, and basic digital competencies for active and responsible citizenship.

PO1: Disciplinary Knowledge: Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of core concepts, theories, principles, and interdisciplinary perspectives within the chosen discipline and allied areas of study.
