Dr. Shyam Datta Waghmare is a dedicated academician and researcher specializing in Agricultural Economics and Sustainable Aquaculture Systems. He completed his Ph.D. from the ICAR–Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), Mumbai, with a focus on the economic and environmental assessment of integrated tilapia-sugarcane farming systems. His research emphasizes sustainable resource management, climate-resilient agriaquaculture, and policy-driven approaches for improving farmers livelihoods.
Dr. Waghmare holds both his Masters and Doctoral degrees in Fisheries Science (Economics specialization) from CIFE, Mumbai, and a Bachelors degree from the College of Fishery Science, Udgir under MAFSU, Nagpur. He has also qualified the prestigious ASRB-NET.
He has research experience as a Young Professional-II at ICAR-CIFE, contributing to projects on ecological assessment, conservation, and fisheries enhancement in Sardar Sarovar Reservoir. His academic contributions include multiple research publications in reputed journals such as Agricultural Water Management, along with book chapters published by Springer.
