Successfully Hosts Expert Session on World Hypertension Day

Sharda School of Pharmacy, Sharda University Agra, organized an enlightening expert session on 16th May 2025 to commemorate World Hypertension Day. The session focused on two highly relevant public health themes: Hypertension in Developing Countries: Past, Present and Future and Childhood Obesity – A Growing Global Epidemic.

The event was conducted under the visionary leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Jayanthi Ranjan, Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Sharda University Agra, whose continued emphasis on academic enrichment and public health awareness formed the foundation of this event.Prof. (Dr.) Umesh Kumar Sharma, Dean, Sharda School of Pharmacy encouraged active academic participation in issues concerning global health challenges. Prof. (Dr.) Gyanendra Kumar Sharma, Assistant Dean, played a pivotal role as the Event In-Charge, ensuring seamless execution of the event.

The session featured distinguished speakers from the medical and health sectors. Dr. Md. Kausar Neyaz, Ph.D., Founder and Managing Director of Aabir Bio-Services Foundation, addressed the audience with a comprehensive analysis of hypertension trends in developing countries, discussing its historical context, present status, and future prospects. Dr. Meghna Hasmukh Panchal, MBBS, MD (Pediatrics), Founder and Director of FitFuture.insight.co , and Senior Pediatric Consultant at Fortis Hospital and Blessings Polyclinic, delivered an insightful talk on the escalating issue of childhood obesity, emphasizing its alarming global rise and the urgent need for intervention.

This expert session was organized by the Cultural Committee, Sharda School of Pharmacy, with the aim of raising awareness about lifestyle diseases and fostering preventive health education among students and faculty members
