Ms. Chanchal Sharma is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Sharda School of Humanities, Sharda University, Agra, and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Psychology. She holds an M.Phil. and M.A. in Psychology along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Guidance and Counselling. With more than five years of academic experience, she is actively involved in teaching, research, academic coordination, and student mentoring in the field of Psychology and Behavioural Sciences.
Her academic and research interests include Cognitive Flexibility, Working Memory, Divergent Thinking, Emotional Regulation, Metacognition, Mindfulness and Meditation-based Interventions, Art & Play Therapy, Psychological Assessment, and Scale Construction. Her research focuses on understanding cognitive processes and developing psychological tools and interventions for enhancing human potential and psychological well-being.
She has published research articles in national and international journals covering areas such as cognitive flexibility, emotional regulation, dignity of labour, administrative behaviour, vigilance, working memory, and therapeutic interventions. She has presented research papers and posters at several national and international conferences related to Cognitive Science, Mental Health, Applied Psychology, and Behavioural Research.
She has contributed as a Research Assistant in a Ministry of Education–sponsored IIT Kanpur project titled “Role of AI in Mental Health and Inclusion in Higher Academic Institutions” (2025–2026), where she was involved in quantitative data collection and research activities.
In addition to teaching and research, she has undertaken various academic and administrative responsibilities, including serving as Member, Department of Student Welfare (DSW), supporting student welfare initiatives and development activities; Program Academic Coordinator, ensuring effective academic planning and program delivery; and Coordinator of Aesthetica (Decoration and Aesthetics) Club at Sharda University Agra. She is also serving as an Editorial Board Member of the Indian Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences, contributing towards academic research and scholarly publication.
She has actively participated in Faculty Development Programmes, workshops, and training programmes related to Artificial Intelligence in Research, Generative AI in Education, Research Methodology, Psychological Assessment, Quality Enhancement in Higher Education, and Community Engagement in Research. She has received academic recognitions including Student of the Year and Best Performer in Humanities during her academic journey.
As an educator and researcher, Ms. Sharma believes in student-centred learning, integrating psychological theories with practical applications, and creating an engaging academic environment that promotes critical thinking, empathy, creativity, and lifelong learning.
