Dr. Yogesh K. Ahlawat holds a doctorate in enhancing biofuel production through plant cell wall biosynthesis, obtained from Michigan Tech University, USA. His research involves manipulating lignin biosynthesis in poplars to improve biofuel output, utilizing techniques such as tissue-specific promoters, addressing biomass recalcitrance, and employing chemical pre-treatments for biomass deconstruction. Additionally, he focuses on prolonging the postharvest shelf life of diverse fruits and vegetables using multi- omics approaches, abiotic stress tolerance, postharvest senescence in brassicas. With 12 years of extensive experience in functional genomics, postharvest genomics, and crop enhancement methodologies, he has a proven track record of publishing impactful research and worked on diverse vegetables, crops, and fruits for understand various quantitative and qualitative traits in promoting smart agriculture practices. He serves on the editorial boards of several prestigious journals like BMC, Frontiers. He has received numerous international awards like national overseas fellowship by Govt of india, doctoral finishing fellowship, best graduate teaching award, several patents and many national and international travel grants by esteemed bodies.
